Classroom Visual Vocabulary Cards

Language teachers can build picture flashcards for new vocabulary with Raphael AI.

Why pictures beat translations

Learners remember a word longer when it is tied to an image instead of a word in their first language. A picture card also works for mixed-language classrooms.

Prompt pattern

simple flat illustration of [object], white background, centered, no text

Keeping "no text" in the prompt stops the image from giving away the answer.

Card layout

Front	Back
Image only	Word, article/gender, one example sentence

Themes that work well

• Kitchen objects
• Weather and seasons
• Jobs and workplaces
• Verbs of motion (prompt a person running, jumping, climbing)

Review game

Shuffle the cards, show the image for three seconds, and let teams race to say the word with the correct article.
